Welcome back, everyone!
I’m Ethan, and today we’re talking about one of the most well-known—and controversial—figures in modern history:
Donald Trump.
Business mogul, reality TV star, and the 45th President of the United States.
Whether you see him as a brilliant strategist or a divisive leader, one thing’s for sure—his story is unlike any other.
And by the way, if you want to follow along, the full transcript is available on our website.
Alright, let’s dive in.
Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City.
His father, Fred Trump, was a wealthy real estate developer who made his fortune building homes and apartments across New York.
From an early age, Trump was immersed in the world of business.
But he wasn’t exactly a quiet kid—his parents sent him to a military academy at the age of 13 to instill discipline.
After high school, he attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied economics.
And while he did graduate, he often played up his academic credentials, calling himself “top of the class”—though there’s no official record of that.
After college, Trump joined his father’s real estate business, helping expand the company’s reach.
In the 1970s, he moved into Manhattan real estate, making bold deals that got him both attention and controversy.
His most famous early project?
The Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City, which he transformed from an outdated building into a luxury success.
But the real estate world wasn’t just about making deals—it was also about taking risks.
Some paid off, like Trump Tower, the gleaming skyscraper on Fifth Avenue that became his headquarters.
Others… not so much.
By the 1990s, Trump’s empire was struggling.
His casinos in Atlantic City were losing money, and he was forced to declare multiple business bankruptcies.
But, as he often said, he never personally went bankrupt—his businesses did.
And yet, somehow, Trump always found a way to bounce back.
Whether it was licensing his name on everything from steaks to board games, or starring in the hit reality TV show The Apprentice, he had a knack for staying in the spotlight.
“You’re fired!”
—those two words became a cultural catchphrase.
Then, in 2015, he did something almost no one saw coming.
He announced he was running for President of the United States.
His campaign was unlike anything before it.
He wasn’t a politician.
He didn’t follow the usual rules.
His speeches were off-the-cuff, his social media presence was unfiltered, and his message—“Make America Great Again”—resonated with millions.
His critics called him dangerous and unqualified.
His supporters saw him as a straight-talking outsider who would shake up the system.
And in 2016, against almost all predictions, he won.
Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President on January 20, 2017.
His presidency was marked by big promises, major controversies, and a deeply divided country.
He pushed for tax cuts, toughened immigration policies, and appointed three conservative justices to the Supreme Court—decisions that would shape the U.
S.
for decades.
He also made history as the first sitting U.
S.
president to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
But his time in office was far from smooth.
His handling of the COVID-19 pandemic drew intense criticism.
His impeachment—twice—made him only the third U.
S.
president in history to face such charges.
And his claims that the 2020 election was “stolen” led to one of the most dramatic moments in American political history:
the storming of the U.
S.
Capitol on January 6, 2021.
After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Trump left office—but he didn’t leave politics.
He remains a dominant force in the Republican Party and launched another campaign for president in 2024.
Love him or hate him, Trump’s story isn’t just about business, politics, or controversy—it’s about influence.
Few figures in modern history have shaped the world in the way he has.
So, what do you think?
Was Trump’s rise to power inevitable?
Or was it a one-in-a-million moment in history?
Let me know in the comments!
